Common Causes of Shoulder Pain

The shoulder is a joint with many functioning parts. When one or more of these parts become aggravated or inhibited, it leads to pain in the entire shoulder area. Common causes we see are:

  • Rotator cuff injury: Injury to the muscles and tendons in your shoulder often present as a dull ache in the shoulder that is aggravated by applying additional pressure to the area. Repeated overhead motion makes people more prone to this injury.
  • Shoulder Bursae: Bursae are small sacs of fluid that are present in various joints in the body in order to reduce friction. The shoulder is one of the areas where bursae are found, and bursitis is brought on by inflammation of these areas.
  • Neck-referred pain: Cervical issues can sometimes send shooting pain from the neck into the shoulder; leading people to misidentify structural issues as a shoulder injury.
  • Poor posture: Rounded shoulders and a consistent forward lean of the head places the rotator cuff under constant strain, which leads to a gradual wear and tear without an acute injury incident.

The nature of shoulder injuries is a wide spectrum. We would love to meet you and get to the source of your pain.

"Amazing experience with Wilson Family Chiropractic. I visited them with a frozen shoulder, and they were kind enough to accommodate me and gave immediate relief to my shoulder pain. Dr. Jake and Heysha are wonderful; they took care of everything.

Subsequent visits made my shoulder 99% functional in very short time. Thank you, Wilson Family Chiropractic, very much for your service."

How Chiropractic Care Helps Shoulder Pain

Get effective relief by targeting the root cause of your Shoulder Pain

Chiropractic care could be the second opinion you’ve been looking for. Here’s how it can help:

  • Identification of Root Cause: Dr. Jake and Dr. Kat take you through an assessment during your first visit to determine the source of your shoulder pain; allowing for a tailored treatment plan.
  • Shockwave Therapy: We offer two forms of shockwave therapy, Radial Pulse Wave and Focused Shockwave, to break up scar tissue and promote the body’s natural healing processes.
  • Laser Therapy: Non-thermal light promotes healing at a cellular level by promoting increased blood flow to treated areas; catalyzing your healing timeline.

Our many treatment options allow us to truly create a one-of-one plan based on your specific needs to ensure you experience lasting change.
